Health Services
Instructor: Michelle Been, RN, BSN

Welcome to the Eaton School District Health Services Web page.

Eaton School District Health Services promotes the physical, mental, and emotional health of all students.

Health Announcements
Food Allergy
The Eaton School District has adopted a new Food Allergy Policy.  You can access this policy (JLCDA) on the home page of the district website.  You may access the Food Allergy Treatment Plan under health services.  If medication has been prescribed by your health care provider to treat your child's allergies we highly recommend you supply the office with the medication to allow us to provide the best care for your child at school.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the health office at your child's school.  Thanks for your cooperation.
Champ Camp
The American Lung Association will be holding Champ Camp for kids ages 7-14 with asthma.  The camp will take place at the Glacier View Ranch in Ward, Colorado July 17-23rd.  You may download the application from this website in the asthma folder.

PEANUT AND NUT FREE AT EES AND BEES
Eaton Elementary and Benjamin Eaton will be peanut/nut free this school year.  We have several students who have severe peanut/nut allergies, and we are asking your assistance in providing these students with a safe learning environment.  Strict avoidance is the only way to prevent a life-threatening allergic reaction.  If exposed to peanuts/nuts these students may develop a life-threatening allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment.  Please do not send any peanut/nut containing products to school with your child for lunch or snack.  We appreciate your support.

When to keep your child home from school
  • Temperature of 100 or higher.  Students need to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever reducing medications.
  • If your child is experiencing any vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
  •  Strep throat, may return  after 24 hours of antibiotic treatment.
  • Bacterial conjunctivitis or "pink eye", may return after 24 hours of antibiotic treatment.

Medications at school
In order to give out any medication at school we must have on file a "permission to administer medications" form signed by the parent and the health care provider with the exact dates and times of day medications are to be given.  This is for both prescription and over-the-counter medications. Please see medication policy.  You may download form from this website under medication folder.

Immunizations

2011-2012 School Year Immunization Requirements:

All students are required to have an immunization record on file at school. Remember all 6th - 12th graders are required to have a TDaP immunization.  Please bring in a copy of your child's updated immunization record to the health office.  Please check out the immunization table for all other requirements.  Table can be found under health files.
The Weld County Health Department will be holding a walk-in clinic on August 20th from 8:30am -1200pm.  Cost is $14.70 per vaccine.  First come first served.
